Is your company contemplating the manual conversion of its legacy application program source code for the year 2000 and beyond? We can supply you with a unique do-it-yourself programming methodology that will save a minimum of 25% compared to any other method already available in the public domain. Depending on how date-related your applications are, and which traditional method you are comparing with, this saving could easily approach 50% or more!
Why do we claim our methodology to be the best? Because it's the least-invasive solution. It minimises the changes necessary to achieve millennium compliance.
No other methodology can claim all these benefits! The only changes are in program source code.
Of course, program source code still has to be examined to determine where dates are used, and in what way.
Some programs will not use dates at all; they are already Year 2000 compliant.
Some programs that use dates will not need to be changed at all, if you use our methodology.
Some programs will use dates in only a very cosmetic way; for example, just to print the current date at the top of a report. These programs can be assigned a lower priority in the conversion schedule if time is short. It's not a show-stopper if they are converted after the year 2000.
The remaining programs will need to be converted as soon as possible. Using our methodology, you will only need to insert changes in, on average, one or two places in each program. The effort saved per program will quickly escalate to a very significant reduction for each application, overall.
The big factor that makes year 2000 remediation different from the usual development project is that it must be applied to (usually) all applications within the same immovable time frame. Because our solution does not require any alterations to existing files and databases, you can convert and put into production one application at a time. You can even convert and implement per program if you wish.
This is a tried and tested solution which will allow you to achieve millennium compliance with fewer people, for less cost, and in less time.
Compare our year 2000 solution to the other methodologies and draw your own conclusion.
